Our delivery drivers are employees of Alexandria Floral and are trained to use their best judgment when a recipient is unavailable. Every delivery situation is different, and decisions are made based on factors such as weather conditions, available shelter, neighbors, and business policies.

Depending on the circumstances, our drivers may leave flowers in a safe, sheltered location, such as a front porch, or ask a neighbor to accept the delivery. For workplace deliveries, arrangements may be left at a reception desk or the recipient’s designated office when appropriate.

If it is not possible to leave the flowers safely, the driver may return the arrangement to our shop. In these cases, we will coordinate with the recipient before making another delivery attempt.

If we are unable to deliver the flowers directly to the recipient, we will leave a door tag explaining what happened whenever possible. We will also generally attempt to contact the recipient by phone call or text message to provide an update on their delivery.
